3 Big mistakes that can ruin your weight loss
Losing weight can be a very tough and frustrating process. But with the right mindset and attitude it doesn’t have to be that way. One very important thing to do before you start your weight loss journey is to learn about common mistakes people do, and then don’t do them your self!
These are three of the most common mistakes that people do when it comes to weight loss:
1. Quitting to soon
2. Expecting weight loss overnight
3. Having the wrong attitude
1. Quitting to soon
Many people quit with their diet and exercising programs to soon. It could be because they got to little time to exercise one day so they miss one training pass. And then they lose motivation, and then they skip a few more training passes, and before you know it they quit training all together.
If you don’t have enough time to do your usual exercise, then use all the time that you got. If you only got 10 minutes over, great use that to train then, it’s better to train for 10 minutes then nothing at all.
Same thing with the diet, lets say around Christmas and you eat a bit too much and a bit unhealthy one day. Many people feel very tempted to stop the diet and go back to their old food habits after that. You have to learn to stick to it even after one of those nights.
And remember that just because you have broken your diet or exercising plan once or twice doesn’t mean that you have failed. Just make sure that you step it up and do the right thing next time.
2. Expecting weight loss overnight
When you start with your weight loss don’t expect that you’re going to see results in the first few days, maybe even in your first week. Many people when they start out they keep going for like a week and then they look at the scale and maybe they haven’t lost anything or just not as much as they expected. And they get frustrated because of it, and maybe keep going for a few more days and still they don’t lose as much as they want, so they stop because they lose all motivation. You didn’t gain all of your weight overnight, and neither will you lose it overnight. You need to understand this before you start your weight loss.
One thing to remember about this is that you shouldn’t only be watching the scale when you start your training and diet. You should start to feel more energetic, you can begin to feel less stressed during the days, maybe even sleep better! So don’t just focus on the scale, focus on everything else that also comes with eating healthy and training.
3. Having the wrong attitude
When you start out and you get a training program that you plan to stick to, and it says that you’re going to train maybe 4-5 times a week. You can get very discouraged because most people feel that exercise is like a punishment, a chore, which has to be done.
And with that attitude towards training, chances are that you will lose all your motivation for training quite quickly.
Training should be a fun thing to do. Something that you should look forward to. And if you don’t feel that about your training you should consider changing your training and start doing something else. If you’re out jogging 3 times a week, and you really hate jogging, then change it. Start with power walking 4 times a week, or start dancing or something that you enjoy.

Weight Loss Motivation How To Find It And Keep It!
Everyone who has ever tried to lose weight knows that the really big issue is motivation - where do we find it, how do we keep it going, and what do we do when it slips!
To be successful at losing weight you must find your own motivation. More importantly, you must keep motivated, even when times get tough! Read through the tips and tricks and other resources below to help you find and maintain your motivation.
* Set your goals and work out a realistic timescale for achieving them. Commit to them 100%.
* Put it in writing! Scribble down in as much detail as possible why you need to lose weight, how much you are going to lose, when and how. The more you commit to paper the better. Carry a notebook around with you and use it to record thoughts and ideas, recipes, quotes - whatever will inspire you and keep you going.
* Tell a friend or member of the family and ask them to help you stick with your plan.
* Remember that you are losing weight and improving your health "one day at a time". You can stick at anything for one day!
* Don't dwell on the junk that you are taking out of your diet. Instead, celebrate the healthy foods that you are putting in.
* Make bullet points of your main motivational issues and write them on a stack of cards. Display the cards where you will see them regularly - on your bathroom mirror, in your purse, in your car.
* Create a "mantra" to repeat to yourself when times get hard. For example, "Every day I am improving my health, my looks and my well-being. I am getting stronger in every way."
* Consider asking for sponsorship from friends and family for a good cause. Perhaps you can raise money for starving children while you get your own eating under control?
* Start a file or scrapbook of articles, recipes and any other interesting titbits you read.
* Start another file of fashion and wardrobe ideas. Plan what you will need to buy when you shrink a size or two!
* Buy a piggybank and fill it up with a particular sum for every pound you lose. You can use it towards your new outfits!
* Find someone to share the experience with, and laugh your way through the tough times.
* Learn from other successful slimmers. Read other people's stories, join a club, find a chat room, or start your own email group.
* Motivate yourself with our collection of weight loss quotes, available free to subscribers to the weekly Losing It My Way ezine.

Flight Training: NDB Instrument Approaches Made Simple
One fundamental principle of NDB approaches is to fly the course that takes you from the radio beacon to the missed approach point. The other fundamental principle is that the accuracy is limited by the accuracy of your gyrocompass. Any drift or uncompensated deviation degrades your ability to fly an accurate course.
The NDB approach requires that you use your gyrocompass for heading reference and your radio compass (automatic direction finder, a.k.a. ADF) for orientation. The fatal mistake is to simply follow the needle. The seductive part of an NDB approach is that half of the time, following the needle works just fine. That half is until you pass over the beacon. Once your needle points back at 180°, all the radio compass tells you is that your tail is pointing at the radio beacon. You could be going anywhere.
I decided to let Ralph try the approach and told Approach Control that we would execute a missed approach at or before the missed approach point (MAP). Ralph and I had talked about NDB approaches. I was not sure he understood them. Here was a place where a mistake could be fatal. So during our procedure turn outbound and still above the clouds, I told him to be prepared for me to take over and execute the missed approach.
We descended into the clouds. Shortly after passing the NDB, we were 30° degrees off course and headed for the mountains. I asked Ralph what heading would get us to the airport. He could not tell me and said we were doing just fine. He started to argue with me about flying a missed approach and who should be flying. I applied full power, retracted flaps and gear, and told ATC that we were executing a missed approach. Ralph decided I was serious and capitulated. Once we were on top Ralph stared at the mountains and turned pale.
Assume the course from the NDB to the missed approach point is 100°. Make it easy by assuming that the inbound course to the radio transmitter is also 100°. Fly a 30° intercept to the inbound course. This would be either 70° or 130° depending on the approach procedure. If it is 130°, your heading is 30° to the right of the inbound course. Your ADF would read 30° to the left of straight ahead or 330° when you intercept the course that you want to follow. If you are two miles or more from the NDB, start the turn inbound just a few degrees early so you can roll to wings level just as the ADF centers. Initially fly the magnetic heading shown on the approach procedure. In a few moments the ADF will start to move to either the right or left. It always does.
To interrupt the narrative, how do you know when you are on the path that takes you over the NDB to the airport? The answer is when the ADF needle is off to one side and the gyrocompass if off by an equal angle to the other side. Earlier your gyrocompass was off by 30° to the right and your ADF was off by 30° to the left so you were on the course but not on the proper heading. We'll try to nail this down next.
Continuing to track inbound to the NDB, fly trial headings and watch the ADF. Your first try is the heading on the chart. If the wind blows you to one side, turn back far enough that the ADF is pointing to the other side. Suppose the wind blows you to the left until the ADF points to 005°, turn right until it points to -005° which is really 355°. This would require a 10° turn changing your heading from 100° to 110°. Hold that course until the ADF moves left to -010° or 350°. If the ADF moves right, then your original guess was not big enough, but let's say it was. Once again the radio compass is off an equal but opposite angle from the gyrocompass. You are over the course but not on the proper heading. You know that the correction angle is between zero and ten degrees because zero was taking you to the left of the inbound course and ten would have taken you to the right of it if you had continued. If the drift compensating angle is between zero and ten degrees, then the heading to fly is between 100° and 110°.You may as well try half way between. That would be 105°. It won't work either exactly, so keep refining your heading.
This is the procedure that you follow all the way to the missed approach point. Once past the radio beacon your corrections are left or right of straight back rather than straight ahead.
To put it in a nutshell, for an NDB approach or any other kind of approach, fly headings, don't chase needles.

Weight Loss In Women: When Should You Worry?
Not many women would be worried if they lost a few pounds. As a matter of fact, most women would be thrilled to get on the scale today and find out that they've been losing weight-especially if they haven't done anything to promote such a change. But the truth is that unexplained weight loss in women could be a sign of something more serious.
During the teenage years, weight fluctuation-up or down-can be a perfectly normal side effect of adolescent growing pains. But if your teenage girl is losing weight at a rapid pace then these could be signs of:
• Depression
• Anorexia Nervosa
• Bulimia
• Gastrointestinal diseases
Unexplained weight loss in women can occur at any time in a woman's life. If you notice that you've been losing a lot of weight for no reason, get to your doctor and have them check for the following, especially if you have been experiencing digestion problems, diarrhea, constipation, nausea, vomiting, or abdominal pain as these symptoms could point to:
• Stomach ulcer
• Inflammatory bowel disease
• Chronic liver disease
• Malabsorption
• Diabetes Type 2
• Hyperthyroidism
• Cancer of the stomach, gallbladder, pancreas or liver
• Endocrine disorders
There are also traumas and mental issues that might affect a woman's weight loss, such as grief, post-traumatic stress disorder, or depression. Obviously, any weight loss during pregnancy should be investigated.
A woman's body goes through an enormous amount of changes during menopause - probably more than at any other time since adolescence and pregnancy. While weight gain is a perfectly natural side effect of menopause, some weight loss can occur - and can be a sign of a hormone imbalance that should be corrected with medication.
Older women can also suffer from excessive weight loss for a variety of reasons:
• Ill-fitting dentures
• Alzheimer's
• Dementia
• Stroke
• Neglect
• Difficulty preparing meals
• Inability to purchase food, whether because of money problems or physical problems
Just like you have to be vigilant with teenage daughters, so to must you take care to notice any significant weight changes in the elderly women in your life. While the reason for unexplained weight loss in older women might not necessarily be health related, it can be medication related. If she forgets to tell her doctor about all the medications she might be taking, the doctor might prescribe something that counteracts or reacts badly, causing weight loss.
Mama always said that there was a right and a wrong way to do things. That is why special attention has been placed on Weight Training Exercises For Women.

Weight Loss Plans - Make Successful Weight Loss Program
To lose weight and keep it off, you should be aware of the different types of programs available and the important parts of a good program. Knowing this information should help you select or design a weight-loss program that will work for you. The three types of weight-loss programs include: do-it-yourself programs, non-clinical programs, and clinical programs.
Program the mind that it will be both dietary changes and an increase in activity for at least a few months before you may see real results. Make plans on how you're going to prepare the foods, shopping for food, cooking times, exercise time, etc. Plan for the dietary change, remember its not a diet which we relentlessly follow it's a consistent dietary change needed.
One of the best ways to lose weight is to exercise. Walking is an example of the best places to start your exercise. It takes no experience, no coaching, and tiny additional hardware - literally, all you have a requirement for is a couple of shoes (and perhaps some socks). Really, several weight reduction and fitness professionals endorse walking as just a basic exercise program, not simply a weight reduction exercise program. When you walk, you raise your heart rate, which burns calories, and builds muscle strength and elasticity.
It's possible to lose weight without exercising, but all the best weight loss plans will encourage you to do at least some. I know you've got a lot of things on your plate... a job, family, plus the need to relax of course... but the more activity you can bring into your lifestyle, the better off you are. the gym's great, but not everyone can make time for it. If you like watching sports, why not take the kids out and play a few rounds instead of sitting in front of the tv? Maybe take the family out on some hikes. Heck, even walking an extra 20 minutes a days can make a big difference, why not start looking for places where you can include an extra few minutes here and there?
The first step is to start taking your lunch to work. Pack fruits or other healthy snacks to eat in between meals. This will not only save you calories but it will also save you money. It is important to eat about six small meals a day when you are trying to lose weight. Eating these small meals will ramp up your metabolism and help you burn more calories.
Another important factor to make your weight loss successful it to drink plenty of water. Try having a glass before you eat a meal and you will eat less. The water will make you feel full before you start to eat. Water will also help your body work more efficiently.
